After The Bombing
The bombing in Birmingham angered many African Americans and caused them to become violent. They poured into the streets and threw stones at policemen that tried to stop them. The police decided to take action, and fired shotguns over the people's heads to get them off the streets. The Governor offered a $5,000 reward to anyone who brought in the bombers. This was mainly because there had been 50 bombings of Negro property since World War II and none of them had been solved.
